Photos in The Hague (Den Haag) Nov. 2005
Here's a photo of us in The Hague, which is about an hour south of Amsterdam. More photos to come soon!
Eelco and Tracey at the Brouwersgracht stop on the 6 tram. We're headed to the Haagshe Market to buy vegetables and probably chocolate.
Here is a frightening image. There's a WWII-era movie being filmed in Den Haag. This is "Plein," one of the main squares in Den Haag, and the set designers have dressed it up to resemble the Nazi occupation. During the WWII occupation of Holland, the Nazis actually used this building as their communications center. When this movie was being filmed, there were signs in the streets warning people in the street about the Nazi symbols and trucks. There are people still living in Den Haag who remember the Nazi occupation, when Plein actually looked like this.
The movie is called Zwartboek (Black book) and it is directed by Paul Verhoeven, who directed Basic Instinct. I haven't been able to figure out when it will be released.
